* Healthy hair is highly elastic and can stretch 30% before snapping

* Hair can absorb its weight in water

* An average head of hair when twisted together can support 23 tons of weight (approximately 100 people.)

* Hair is stronger than copper wire of the same diameter

* Hair cell reproduction is the second most prolific in the human body; bone marrow being the first.

* This is the reason why hair is extremely sensitive to changes occurring in the body

* Hair is composed mainly of keratin (protein consisting of amino acids) and moisture

* Each hair grows from a follicle, which is an indentation in the skin. We are born with a specific number of follicles.
